Memorial Book

At Kenton Ross Funerals we like to encourage families to add their personal touch to a service, and one way we do this is by supplying a fully personalised memorial book and thank-you cards. The memorial book has information about the deceased family in it, details of the service, press notice, a photo, has pages for family and friends to sign, war service details as well as a copy of their discharge certificate (if applicable) and poetry. The family has the opportunity to add anything they like to this book, such as their own poetry or words to a song, a copy of the eulogy can be placed in the memorial book as well or anything else they would like to place in the book. The family has the opportunity to participate in the design of the front cover, we have some standard ones we use but the family has the choice in the past we have used fishing, flowers and even sporting emblems just to add that personal touch.

Thank-you cards

There are two different types of thank-you cards to choose from, either a long card or a smaller folded card, both have a photo of the deceased on it as well as some words of thanks. Families are given these cards after the service and then have the opportunity to hand them out as they wish.

Here at Kenton Ross Funerals we feel that it is the personal touches such as this that really make the service mean something to the loved ones left behind, we believe in letting the family be very involved in the decision making and the organisation of the service and at the same time we try to remove all the burden of responsibility from them.

Footprints

One night I had a dream.
I was walking along the beach with the Lord,
and across the skies flashed scenes from my life.
In each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand.
One was mine and one was the Lords.

When the last scene of my life appeared before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand,
and, to my surprise, I noticed that many times
along the path of my life there was only one
set of footprints. And I noticed that it was
at the lowest and saddest times in my life.

I asked the Lord about it:
“Lord you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way.
But I notice that during the most troublesome times
in my life there is only one set of footprints,
I don’t understand why you left my side
when I needed you the most.”

The Lord said:
“My precious child, I never left you during your time of trial.
Where you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I was carrying you.”
